Henderson Rookie Caroline Hedwall talks about making her debut at Evian

How important is playing at the Evian Masters?

It is definitely one of the highlights this season. I've followed the tournament on TV for many years, and I've always wanted to play there, so I’m very excited to play!

How does the event rate on the overall LET schedule?

Together with the Women's British Open I rate it as the top event this year.

Will you play in the annual charity football match?

I think I’m just going to watch, I’m too scared to get injured...

Who of your friends, family and team are you bringing to Evian?

My sister is going to caddie for me, and my mom, dad and grandma will be there to watch me play.

What are you most looking forward to about the event?

There's nothing in particular: I’m just very excited to play! All the players I've talked to, who have been there, say it’s just such a great and well organized event, so I'm just going to enjoy the week, and hopefully play some good golf!

How will you be preparing?

I’m playing the Swedish Team Championship the week before. Its six rounds of golf in four days and ending on Saturday 16th, and then I leave for Evian on Sunday, so playing a lot, will be my preparation.

What are you working on in particular?

I’m not really working on anything special right now. I’m just trying to improve in every part of the game.

What are your hopes and expectations for the tournament?

Well, it for sure one of the toughest LET fields during the seasons, and since I haven't played there before it’s kind of hard to have any expectations. I obviously want to make the cut, and then we'll see what happens.
