Describe your feelings returning to Evian.
Coming back again gives me a feeling of satisfaction because the criteria for selection are tough, and as I am living in the area, it is hard to see from your home your friends who play the tournament, like in 2008 when I was pregnant.
Why is the Evian Masters special?
The Evian Masters is special because is a huge event, one of the tournaments we have at home and most of the people in France have heard of women’s golf only here, so for me, as I am living pretty close to Evian, each day people ask me "Do you play Evian?" probably since I turned pro.
How important is the Evian Masters to the European Tour players?
The Evian Masters is important for the European Tour players because it is one of the tournaments where the fight is between the best worldwide players and playing here means that you are one of them! Unfortunately, the LPGA didn’t t open the three majors there to the European Tour players, so that leaves them between Americans, so the Evian Masters and the British are the time for European players to play these kinds of tournament.
How does the event rate on the overall LET schedule?
The Evian Masters is the tournament with the biggest purse in the world so you can imagine that it is the goal of every player to make a good result here. There is one more zero than at the other regular tournaments on tour, so if you want have a good season for the LET Henderson Money List, you must have a good result here.
Who of your friends, family and team are you bringing to Evian?
Probably everybody, as it is not really far, everybody will come for the week end, friends, family, some members of my golf course will be marshals during the week, so I will have some big support.
What are you most looking forward to about the event?
I will probably go to the football as it is very friendly, as I meet regularly most of the football players who will be there, we will have a good time here, taking your mind off the golf.
How will you be preparing?
After putting down the clubs four days after Finland, I will start training at home a few days before go to Bordeaux to have a four round pro am where my coach will be. As I hate having a week off before the tournament, I have managed this planning to play and be able to see my coach before going to Evian.
What are you working on in particular?
Now I am working on my tempo, as during the last tournament it was not too good, something that I didn’t see before the last round in Finland. The main swing is good, so just some rhythm and I will focus the next days on my putting as that is crucial, especially in the slopey greens of Evian.
How do you assess your season so far?
My 2011 season is going quite well. I am 10th on the Henderson Money List, when I look back, I am disappointed to have missed victory in Germany and Slovakia, as I finished fourth three times in a row. I was pretty regular, but to not be able to win one of these brings me on to the next tournament with the wish to win and as I know that I perform well during August and September, I am looking at the rest of the season more relaxed.
What are your hopes and expectations for the tournament?
When I tee off, I will do all that I can to win, but I know it will be a marathon week, as I have already been asked to do two or three interviews and photo shoots per day. so I will try to stay focused on my game, stay patient, and it will be great if I could finish in the top 10 and confirm my position in The Solheim Cup selection .
