Klara Spilkova from the Czech Republic was the youngest member of the Ladies European Tour last year, until American teen Lexi Thompson signed up following her victory at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.

Still just 17, Klara has achieved a great deal in her short career and here we look at her amateur golf career in pictures. (With special thanks to Golf.cz).

Klara started to play golf aged four years. She and her family lived near the Golf Resort Karlstejn.

Her older brother Lukas played golf and when she tried it, she immediately fell in love with the game.

When the family moved to Prague city centre, near Erpet Golf Centrum {www.erpetgolfcentrum.cz], Klara started playing with the other children at Erpet Golf Centrum.

Soon after that she became a member of Golf Club Erpet Praha. This club has only indoor facilities for training during winter.

During summer, Klara trained at Golf Klub Lisnice and Golf Club Podebrady. During the winter, she only played in virtual tournaments on a full swing golf simulator in Erpet Golf Centrum.

Klara played in these golf tournaments every weekend and then during summer, she played tournaments on the full golf course, individually and in team competition. Klara played her first tournament in England aged 11.

In 2007, aged 12, she won the Czech Republic Junior Championship.

In 2009, aged 14, she won a number of titles: International Czech Republic champion, Czech Matchplay champion, Junior Champion of Germany, European Young Masters champion and runner-up at the International Championship of France and Austria. She finished ninth on the European Ladies EGA rankings.

In 2010, aged 15, she again won the International Czech Republic championship and Junior Champion of Germany, as well as the International Championship of Austria and was runner-up at the European Nations Championship.

In team competition, she represented Europe at the 2009 PING Junior Solheim Cup and at the 2010 Junior Ryder Cup. Her dream is to represent Europe at The Solheim Cup.

Klara is now in her second season as a professional on the Ladies European Tour and hopes to continue collecting trophies.
