The Honma Pilsen Golf Masters began with the official welcome reception at the Pilsner Urquell Brewery on Wednesday evening.

Players and VIPs enjoyed a special performance from rock band Portless and an official tour of the brewery with its world renowned Pilsner, crafted in Pilsen, Czech Republic, using traditional methods and ingredients and first invented 170 years ago.

In 2013, the LET is playing in the Czech Republic for the third year and moves from Prague to the city of Pilsen to Golf Park Pilsen – Dýšina, a tight and hilly course in the west of the country. This is the first time that such big international golf tournament is taking place in the Pilsen region.

A field of 132 competitors, including 17 invitations, from 29 different countries will play three rounds from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th August. Following 36 holes there will be a cut to the leading 60 professionals and those tied for 60th place.

A host of top names including defending champion Melissa Reid, Ai Miyazato, Lee-Anne Pace, Gwladys Nocera, Holly Clyburn, Lindsey Wright and Laura Davies will be competing in the €250,000 tournament.

Top ranked Czech player Klara Spilkova is sure to receive plenty of attention following her tie for sixth place at the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters a fortnight ago and she is one of 10 Czech players in the tournament field along with amateur Lucie Hinnerova, from Brno, who won the qualifying event one month ago.
