Catching up with last year´s joint runner-up Chella Choi

Last year, the South Korean was one of three players to finish two strokes behind Karrie Webb, along with amateur Su-Hyun Oh and LET rookie Ariya Jutanugarn.

Q.  You finished here second last year, so you like this golf course?

CHELLA CHOI: Yes, I love this golf course. I like the green conditions and the fairway conditions.

Q.  Last year you made 26 out of the 28 cuts, so you had a good year. Can you tell us about 2013?

CHELLA CHOI: I played really well last year, I don’t know why my play every year gets better.

Q.   Chella is your number one goal now to win on the LPGA Tour, you’ve come close several times but how much more do you think you need?

CHELLA CHOI: Every tournament before I tried my best, I just try but I don’t know why I keep getting second place.

Karrie hits further than me and her putting is so good. After the tournament I think I learn a lot from Karrie.

Q. Is your father still caddying for you?

Q. If memory serves correctly, when you win the LPGA Tour your Dad will retire, yes?

CHELLA CHOI: Yeah, my father does not want to caddy for me because it’s too tiring for him and before … tournament last year he said he didn’t want to caddy anymore because he is too tired so I said I’ll just try this one more tournament and if I win then no more caddying for me.

Q. How old are you Chella?

CHELLA CHOI: 23, I’m young right! Six years on the LPGA this year.
