Five-time LET tournament champion Diana Luna will be one of the star attractions in the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship and is looking forward to her return to Haikou.  Here we catch up with the former European Solheim Cup player from Italy.

You have played at Mission Hills Haikou before and finished T4th in 2012. How excited are you to be going back?

I am very excited to go back to Mission Hills. It's a place that I like very much: course and facilities are beautiful.

How excited are you to be returning to China?

China is a wonderful country, full of history. Being Italian of course I like countries with lots of things to see and to learn.

What are your impressions of Mission Hills Resort Haikou?

Mission Hills Resort is really impressive, not only for golfers. Facilities are amazing: having been there a few times already I still didn’t have the time to do everything you can do there!

What is special about this venue?

A World Championship is always special, as when a competition involves a team event, that makes all the difference.

How does this compare with the other venues on tour?

As I said the team event makes the difference, but we also have a great individual event going on, so that's a unique venue

What do you think of the Chinese food?

I quite like it, especially the noodle soups.

What do you think of the unique 3-in-1 pro, team and amateur format?

It's very different from what we usually play, so that's fun!

What are your personal goals for the tournament?

I'm gonna have fun and hope to match my best performance at Mission Hills in 2012!

Do you feel your game is good enough to win?

I've been working hard during the winter and I'm also very happy about my new clubs. I'm playing very solid my long game and when my putting will follow I think I have some chances.

How do you feel about your start to the season?

I've already played two events in Australia, so I feel ready and fresh.

What are your general goals for this year?

I hope to have a good season and doing better than last year.

How have you been preparing for the WLC at Mission Hills and how are you approaching the new season?

I've been preparing well and approaching the new season confident about my game and keen to play some good golf.

Do you have any new hobbies or have you done anything particularly interesting or noteworthy over the off-season or last few weeks?

My daughter keeps me quite busy off the golf course, so the time for new hobbies is not easy to find!

Is there anything new in your set-up this year, i.e. new clubs, coach, fitness regime, charity work, sponsor etc?

From this year, together with the sponsors I already had (Kappa, Richard Mille and Range Rover). I am representing the Old Course Cannes Mandelieu that is also represented by Victor Dubuisson on men's tour. I've also changed my clubs and I'm now playing Titleist.
