You have played at Mission Hills Haikou before. How excited are you to be going back?
I did play there before and it's a tournament I always look forward to playing again. Everything about it is great, and it feels like an honour to be participating.
How excited are you to be returning to China?
I always have good stories to tell my friends when I come back from China, let's hope it will be the case again this year!
What are your impressions of Mission Hills Resort Haikou?
It's an unbelievable complex with beautiful golf courses and the hotel/spa are amazing. It's one of the most amazing places I have ever seen.
What is special about this venue?
It's a pretty big event and we are all treated very well, being on site at the hotel makes it easy, we have access to the spa, the practice facilities are great and the field is pretty strong again this year. Plus the World Cup makes it even more interesting.
How does this compare with the other venues on tour?
It's very different, as it’s not very often we are staying on site, and the whole place it like nowhere else!
What do you think of the Chinese food?
I like all kinds of food so it's not a problem for me!
What are your personal goals for the tournament?
Play my best! I really like this golf course, I have good memories there and I'm feeling pretty good in my game, so I’m hoping for the best.
Do you feel your game is good enough to win?
Yes I believe so, it will be a difficult task, but it's possible. At least, I want to give myself a chance, play my best and see.
How do you feel about your start to the season?
I didn't feel great in Australia, couldn't get rid of the rust, but I worked pretty hard with my coach since then and everything is feeling much better!
What are your general goals for this year?
I want to focus on the majors as I will be competing in three of them.
How have you been preparing for the WLC at Mission Hills and how are you approaching the new season?
I worked with my coach on a few things, and played on the course as much as I could.
Do you have any new hobbies or have you done anything particularly interesting or noteworthy over the off-season or last few weeks?
I took a good break after Dubai and went on holidays without my golf bag which was a first. I surfed a little bit, which was really nice.
Is there anything new in your set-up this year, i.e. new clubs, coach, fitness regime, charity work, sponsor etc?
I have signed with Mizuno, after 26 years with Ping! I only changed my irons and wedges and the rest will remain PING. I'm very much looking forward to be playing with these new clubs! Lacoste is still following me as my main sponsor.
