Heather Young

The Evian Masters had hardly begun before Heather Young (formerly Bowie) of the USA won a car in the first round. She carded an ace on the 17th hole and in turn won a Renault Modus automobile. Young struck her gap wedge from 113 yards, watched her ball hit two yards behind the hole and then spin back in. It was the first hole-in-one of her LPGA career. Young carded a 3-under-par 69 and was tied for eighth place after 18 holes.
