(Milan, Italy - December 6th 2005) - Daring Italian Sophie Sandolo has released a second “explosive and sexy” calendar for 2006, following the success of her first one in 2005.

“I could not resist, the 2005 calendar brought me so much luck and such enormous visibility that I could not start the 2006 season without repeating the experience!” exclaimed the 28-year-old French-born Italian.
“2005 was a great year for me, everything started with the great worldwide success of my first calendar, then I had my best golf season and at last I’ve closed an important deal with a new sponsor for my clothes! How could I refuse the offer to make a new calendar?” she said.
Sophie believes that the publication of her first calendar in 2005 helped to give female professional golfers a more glamorous image both on and off the golf course.
Many both inside and outside the world of golf welcomed Sophie’s calendar, which featured a daring, yet tastefully shot nude front cover.
On the official Ladies European Tour website, Sophie’s “Player Profile” received more hits than any other player’s during the 2005 season, confirming the huge amount of interest provoked by her first calendar and she backed up her bold off-course antics with solid performances on the golf course.
Sophie recorded a career best 15th position on the Tour’s official Money List. She also had five top ten finishes and came close to her first victory with a second place finish at the Catalonia Ladies Masters and a third place finish at the BMW Ladies Italian Open.
Her scoring average improved dramatically passing from 73.72 strokes per round in 2004 to 71.55 in 2005.
“I’m strongly convinced that women’s golf needs more visibility and glamour and to present itself in a younger and more intriguing way,” added Sophie.

“In the last few years women’s golf has made some giant steps but the road is still long. I wish that my calendars could bring more notoriety and a bigger fan base to the sport I play and love so much. I hope the press will talk a lot about me and about my calendar but above all I hope they will talk a lot about golf, especially women’s golf!”
The 2006 calendar was shot on location at the spectacular UNA Resort & Country Club Poggio dei Medici in the striking Tuscan countryside. It was captured by the famous Italian photographer Paolo Ranzani, who also shot Sophie’s first calendar.
The 12 exotic photographs were released to the public at an invitational press evening at a famous disco in Monte Carlo.
“Sure it’s a sexy calendar but I prefer to consider it an elegant, funny and ironic product in line with my joyful and slightly unconventional character”.
The 2006 Sophie Sandolo sexy calendar will be distributed through her new web site - www.sophiesandolo.it – where her fans can also find messages, pictures and personal articles written by Sophie. The calendar will be also sold on Ebay, the web site for on-line sales.
During the presentation of the 2006 calendar Sophie Sandolo announced a two-year agreement with the famous brand Chervň, European leader for sport clothes.
“I’m delighted to have found with Chervň a great partner for the next two seasons and I would like to thank the Erlacher family for trusting me. The clothes I will wear next year are comfortable, colourful and full of glamour and you will see I will be sexy on the golf course as well as on the calendar!”
Born in Nice but of Italian nationality, Sophie gained her card to play on the Ladies European Tour at the end of 1999.
In a six-year career to date, she has played 85 events with eleven top ten finishes and 16 top 20s. Her career best finish was a tie for second place at the Catalonia Ladies Masters 2005 and at the Spanish Open in 2003.
5’6” tall (171 cm) with dark blonde hair and green eyes, Sophie enjoys dancing, windsurfing and information technology. She says that she has always taken a typically feminine approach to the sports that she practises and she particularly enjoys the link between golf, fashion and glamour.
