World Class Golfers set for Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open
by LET

Sweden's Carin Koch
(Losone, Switzerland, 29th March 2006) In seven weeks time the Ladies European Tour will stop for the first time at the championship course of the Golf Gerre Losone (Ticino, Switzerland).

Two exceptional golfers have already promised the organisers and promoters to play: Laura Davies (Eng) and Carin Koch (Swe). They will lead the competitors’ field, which comprises of 120 top players from all over the world at the premiere of the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open from May 18th - 21st, 2006.

“It feels great to know you’ll play at the premiere of this new highlight of the Ladies’ European Tour! I am already looking forward to competing against the top-class players in early-summer Ticino in May”, says Laura Davies expectantly.

“We are very happy to be able to present the European, in particular the Swiss golfing fans, with such an exceptional field of competitors at the premiere of the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open. The numerous world-class players will show the many spectators, on site and at home in front of their TV screens, sport of the finest quality – simply The Best of European Ladies’ Golf!”, says an excited Hanns-Michael Hölz, Managing Director of Deutsche Bank AG, who is looking forward to the tournament week in May.

Besides Laura Davies, who so far has celebrated more than 50 tournament wins on four continents and as such is one of the most successful players of all time, it is Carin Koch in particular who is one of the favourite aspirants for the tournament victory and the winner’s cheque for euro 75,000. Like Davies, Koch mostly plays on the American LPGA Tour and with more than US dollar 3.5 million in career prize money she is one of Europe’s top players. Of course, Scandinavian players Gustafson and Pettersen are also part of the inner circle of favourites.

The seven Swiss players – among them Nora Angehrn, Florence Lüscher and Frédérique Seeholzer – will certainly also try to seize their chance to finish at the top end of the field of world-class professionals at the event.

All five German ladies that have so far committed to play have justified hopes of a top placement, too. With Anja Monke, Elisabeth Esterl, Martina Eberl, Denise Simon and Bettina Hauert, a strong group of young players will come to the tournament from the neighbouring country

The professionals from Italy are not to be forgotten either. After all, Diana Luna, Sophie Sandolo and Veronica Zorzi have celebrated numerous sporting successes in the past years and they will be highly motivated at the Deutsche Bank Ladies’ Swiss Open 2006.

Golfing fans who want to support the international top players and watch golf as well as enjoy other superior entertainment live can buy tickets now by simply calling the ticket hotline on +41 (0) 91 - 791 00 91 or visiting the internet at www.deutschebank-ladies-swiss-open.ch .
