European Team captain Helen Alfredsson

(Halmstad, Sweden – September 14, 2007) European Team Captain Helen Alfredsson has left out two of her rookies - Linda Wessberg and Bettina Hauert - until Solheim Cup Saturday at Halmstad in Sweden. But Betsy King, the USA Captain, has decided to put all players into action on the first day of the match play competition.

It's an interesting decision by Alfredsson - all the players have to play at least once before Sunday's singles.

In the first day's afternoon fourballs, King has introduced three of her rookies - Brittany Lincicome, Stacy Prammanasudh and Nicole Castrale.

Lincicome joins Pat Hurst in the first match against Catriona Matthew and Iben Tinning. Prammanasudh joins another of the players who sat out the foursomes, Angela Stanford, in the second match versus Annika Sörenstam and Maria Hjorth, while Castrale and Cristie Kerr face Sophie Gustafson and Gwladys Nocera in the third tie.

The final match pitches Europe's Laura Davies and Trish Johnson against Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel.
