Royal Pines Resort on Wednesday evening

(Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, Queensland - Wednesday 6th February 2008) -- The organising committee of the ANZ Ladies Masters at the Royal Pines Resort in Queensland announced tonight that due to the condition of the golf course after a deluge of rain between 4.00 and 5.30 p.m. today, play has been officially cancelled on Thursday to prepare the course for play from 6.30 a.m. on Friday.

The order of play for Friday will remain the same as originally scheduled for Thursday.

This means that the event has been reduced to 54 holes with a 36-hole cut on Saturday, after which the leading 65 professional players plus ties will complete the third and final round on Sunday.

According to the course Superintendent Paul McLean, two inches of rain fell in one hour at Royal Pines Resort, taking the total for the last seven days to nine inches.

Spectator tickets purchased for Thursday's first round will now be valid on Friday.
