La Sella Golf Resort in Denia, Alicante, Spain, has announced that they will continue to host the Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup in 2010 with the tournament scheduled for the 22nd to 25th April.
A total of 18 teams will compete representing their respective countries for prize money of €350,000 at the third edition of the event, which is title sponsored by Valencian Community Investments (VCI).
Of those, 16 teams will qualify for the event via the Henderson Money List and Rolex World Ranking, while two teams will be invited.
The teams will be finalised following the LET’s season-ending event, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. Format of play will remain the same as in previous years: two days of better-ball followed by two days of Valencian Cup.
Since the inaugural Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup in 2007, won by the English duo of Trish Johnson and Rebecca Hudson, the event has been widely embraced by players, sponsors and spectators.
The 2008 event saw the little known pair of Christel Boeljon and her team mate Marjet van der Graaff steer team Netherlands to a four stroke victory and many top names have already indicated that they are keen to sign up for next year’s tournament.

Women’s golf is a fantastic product and we are delighted to continue to work with La Sella Golf Resort and the Ladies European Tour to secure the future of this unique, showcase tournament.”
January 2010 will see the opening of nine new holes at La Sella Resort, designed by Jose Maria Olazabal. There are likely to form part of the course for the 2011 tournament.
In addition, in the lead up to the event, amateur players will be compete for the chance to play alongside the professionals. The winner will earn a VIP tournament pass, two places in the Pro Am and a break for two at the Denia Marriott Hotel at La Sella Resort for the week of the 2010 Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup.
