The Welsh Solheim Cup star enjoyed her best season on the LET in 2009 when she won the Open de Espana Femenino and finished third on the Henderson Money List. With the start of the 2010 LET season, at the Pegasus New Zealand Women’s Open hosted by Christchurch on 25th February, just eight days away, here we catch up with the two-time tournament winner.
1. Tell us what you have been doing since the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters?
I had a break of around three weeks after Dubai which was nice, a chance to rest and see my family over Christmas. And after that I flew to Spain to practice for a month at Desert Springs.
2. What are you doing to prepare for 2010?
I've worked hard with my coach and trainer to make sure that I'm physically and technically ready for the new season.
3. What is your 2010 schedule looking like?
Quite different to other years actually; I will be planning a lot better and playing in fewer events. I think so that it’s more quality not quantity.
4. How do you see your last season?
It was a real breakthrough year for me, I made a lot of changes in the winter and the hard work paid off so that was great. I got into a lot of good positions in big events and gained a lot from being in those situations.
5. What was your best moment of last season?
There were so many good ones it’s hard to say. I think winning the Spanish open was a great feeling.
6. What do you consider your greatest strength on course?
I'd say my ability to keep calm in every situation.

7. What do you still need to improve?
You can always improve everything. But I think for me probably I need to hit more fairways.
8. What is your favourite LET event and why?
I'd have to say the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters as it’s the last event of the season; there is always a good atmosphere, the course is great and Dubai is a nice place to play golf.
9. What do you do before and after an event?
Before I try to make sure that I'm happy with every part of my game and after I try to analyse what I could have done better.
10. What do you do to relax?
I quite like watching movies and having dinner with my friends, it’s nice sometimes to spend time with people who don't play golf and don't care about golf.
11. Goals for 2010?
My main goal is to get my LPGA tour card and do well in all the majors.
12. How do you feel about your chances?
I think if I work hard and believe in myself I can do it.
13. How do you feel about the other players?
I like the way now that there are so many good players in Europe. Everybody works hard and if you want to win you have to work harder than everybody else.
14. Who is your greatest rival?
For me I always think my worse rival is myself. Sometimes you fight with your own emotions on the course and that's the biggest challenge.
15. What do you think about the 2010 rookies?
I think it’s going to be hard for the rookies this year when you think about how amazing Anna Nordqvist was this year it’s going to be hard for any of them to be as good as she was in her rookie year.
16. What difference can you see between you before being a pro and now?
I think the main thing is the experience of the big events and how that helps to be more mature on the course.
17. When did you decide to play golf?
When I was 12 because my dad played.
18. What did you family say?
They said they would support me no matter what I wanted to do.
19. What does golf mean to you?
Apart from my family it means everything to me.
