Alice Mooney is a PhD Candidate, Lecturer and Sports Massage Practitioner at the Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences, University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Alice’s doctoral research is focused on Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention and Management. Applied consultancy Alice is currently involved in includes working as a visiting lecturer to the PGA National Training Academy, The Belfry, England where she is part of the Sport Science team delivering lectures and physical screening and golf specific training interventions, to assistant golf professionals on the BSc Professional Golf degree program. In addition Alice works as Sport Scientist to the National Junior Golf Squad players in Turkey who train at the National Golf Club, Belek, Antalya and the Kemer Golf Club, Istanbul. Alice works with the junior players and coaches assessing their physical profiles through screening, creating and instructing injury prevention programs, stretching interventions, golf specific fitness and conditioning programs and applied sports nutrition strategies.
Alice has 8 years’ experience practicing as an accredited Holistic and Sports Massage Practitioner providing physical therapy to golfers, triathletes, endurance runners, speed skaters, games players (basketball, soccer, Gaelic football, rugby, blind football) as well as remedial and holistic therapy and for elderly population groups and clients with occupational and postural strains. |
