English golfer Melissa Reid overcame her fears to achieve one of her goals in life on after the opening round of the ANZ RACV Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast. The 23-year old went sky diving over Coolangatta with Gold Coast Skydive and absolutely loved it -eventually.
It was a case of third time lucky as Tuesday’s scheduled jump was postponed due to rain, then Wednesday’s jump was cancelled on Tuesday night due to high winds.
“Going up in the plane was the longest part, when they said we are at 3,000 feet and climbing, I looked out and thought they were joking and as it felt like we were already at 14,000 feet. By the time we got up there I was saying, I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to do this.”
“But it was awesome, it was a surreal feeling, I absolutely loved it. When I landed I just wanted to go up and do it again, it was amazing.”
Melissa, along with good friends Jo Clinger and Beth Allen all took up the challenge.
