Lancashire’s Corisande Lee and her sister will be cycling from Lands End to John O Groats at the beginning of September to raise money for the Blue Cross and St. Catherine's Hospice in Preston.
The duo hopes to complete the cycle in 12 days covering approx 80 miles a day, covering a total distance of 950 miles.
“My sister and I have always wanted to do something for charity and both enjoy cycling so decided to set ourselves the personal challenge of cycling from Lands End to John O Groats while using the adventure to raise money for two very worthy causes,” Lee said.
“The two charities we will be supporting are St. Catherine's Hospice in Preston, a local charity for terminally ill people and The Blue Cross for Animals. My little sister is a veterinary nurse and experiences first-hand the amazing job the Blue Cross do for sick animals on a daily basis. We are aiming for 80-90 miles a day and have been supplied with brand new road bikes by Raleigh courtesy of Ewood Bikes of Blackburn. We are aiming to raise a few thousand each for our respective charities and will begin our cycle in the first week of September.
“We think it is very important that we take time out of our busy lives and do something worthwhile for others. The ride will be the biggest challenge of both of our lives but are very excited to see the British Isles at a slow pace and enjoy the experience together as sisters.”
