Laura Davies believes that Europe's Solheim Cup team has its best chance in years of regaining the trophy from the USA at Killeen Castle in Ireland.
Speaking at a press conference in Austria, the 11-time Cup player said: "I think now with this team we can bring back the Cup. It's been a long time and I think we now have the 12 players assembled who can do it. I think for the first time in a long while we have got a strong team of ball hitters and the Americans aren't playing as well as they normally do."
Davies will make her 12th appearance as a player in the event when it gets under way from September 23-25.
Speaking about her experience of being the only competitor from either team to have played in every match since 1990, she added: "It just means I've been around a long time. It just shows that when you don't go crazy with too much practise you can last a long time and who knows, maybe I'll play in 13 or 14 of them." |
