Rookie Ladies European Tour professional Rachel Jennings married Chris Thornton, the Shirley Golf Club teaching professional, on Friday 2^nd September, 2011.

She skipped the UNIQA Ladies Open presented by Raiffeisen in Austria to get married at Fairyhill in the Gower Peninsula in Wales.

The couple had a formal service followed by archery, croquet and birds of prey instead of a disco. Then to round off the night they had a pub quiz and a game of pass the parcel.

Rachel, aged 23 from Stoke-on-Trent, has recorded two top-10 finishes on the LET this year so far with a season-best third place finish at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open in May. She is back in action at the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters at Albatross Golf Resort in the Czech Republic this week.
