Why do you want to come to play on the Ladies European Tour?
I want to play golf and this seemed like something that would be better than the States.
How did you prepare for this tournament?
I have been preparing all Fall so I played a few tournaments in Arizona on the Cactus Tour and then I went home for Christmas so I took a little break. I couldn’t play at home because there was a lot of snow so I had to be careful. I came here to La Manga Club at the beginning of New Year and have been practising here in Spain for around six hours a day as well as working on my fitness.
What are your expectations for 2012?
Playing professionally on the LET! My goal is to get a full card but if not, I will try to play as many tournaments as I can. It all depends on how many tournaments I will be able to go to. I haven’t set any goals for after this week. I think starting by making a few cuts would be really good in the beginning.
What is your lowest round?
67 at Meadow Club in California.
What is the best part of your game?
My long game is very consistent and I hit a lot of fairways.
What is the weakest part?
Probably from 50-100 yards.
What is your driving average?
Carry 220 yards and another 15-10 yards of roll.
What is your putting average?
Have you had any hole in ones?
What is your favourite course?
I really like Sotogrande in Spain.
Do you have any nicknames?
In the US, they call me T-Rex, like the dinosaur, because I have really short arms.
What languages do you speak?
Icelandic, English, a little Spanish, French and Scandinavian.
I graduated in May 2011 with a bachelors degree in international studies from the University of San Francisco.
Who are your golfing heroes?
I really like Annika Sorenstam and the way she carried herself and I really like Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriot’s Vision54.
Who is on your team?
My dad’s brother, my uncle, Bjorgvin Sigurbergsson, is my coach and a player on the Challenge Tour.
