LET Rookie Dawn Shockley from Colorado, USA, reports on her experiences, from the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open through to the Raiffeisenbank Prague Golf Masters at the end of June.

It’s as if I am coming home from summer camp. Excited to go home, but sad to leave my new friends and all the adventures and exploring we have done. When I left America 8 weeks ago i was nervous. I didn't know many people on tour, and i wasn't even sure how I was going to get from the airport in turkey to my hotel. Now I find myself in Heathrow airport reminiscing about the good times I have had.  And hey, I'll be honest. The golf for me wasn't great the last several weeks, but they were still eight of the best weeks I can remember. 

It's not every day that you are surrounded by people from all over the world sharing one another's cultures. One week you are in Holland and the next you're in Slovakia. Different language, different food, new culture, and a whole new adventure! There's no olive garden, chipotle, or lone star. Nope: just local cafes and restaurants. But hey, if you ask nicely they may give you an English menu! If not, practice your charades. If you want chicken, give 'Em the funky chicken; if you want a good old steak start mooing, they'll figure it out. And not only do you have different restaurants everywhere you go, but new company each night. Some cruisy dinners just to grab a bite to eat and some that turn into a few extra beers and a deep belly laugh. You never really know.  I just love the unknown that travelling around Europe to play golf can bring. So far it has been a great journey and I can't want to get back to my friends; great tournaments run by a great staff; and hopefully a few more unforgettable experiences.
