With just days to go before the start of the London Games we asked several LET golfers about their favourite Olympic memories and their thoughts on golf rejoining the programme at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

1. What is/are your favourite/s Olympic sports? Tennis, skiing, cross county and of course now golf J
2. Who is your favourite Olympic athlete? Roger Federer, he is just amazing!
3. What sport or event do you like to watch during the Olympics? When the athletes are competing for the medals, every sport is interesting.
4. Have you got any plans to go to watch any event regarding London 2012? No, unfortunately not.
5. Which country do you think will win more medals during London 2012? What about Great Britain?  USA will win the most medals. Great Britain will do not bad J
6. Do you practice currently or have you ever practiced any other Olympic Sport, apart from golf? Yes: tennis, swimming, cross country, skiing and snowboarding.
7. What is your favourite moment at any Olympics Games? When an athlete wins…J
8. Have you met any Olympic athletes apart from Vera Shimanskaya? Dario Cologna (met him through a friend), Iouri Podlatschikov (went to school with him).
9. If you were not a golf professional, what other Olympic Sport would you like to have practiced? Tennis and skiing.
10. If you had not dedicated your career to golf, in which other Olympic Sport you think you would have succeeded? Skiing: I always wanted to be a skier but golf got in my way.
11. Do you know the procedure to get selected to enter Rio 2016, when golf will be an Olympic sport? I am not sure… Every country can send max 4 players starting at the top 20 of the world ranking. They will all be nominated. Then every following player will be nominated, until each country has a max of four players nominated.                                  But I hope it will not work like this, every player selected from his Olympic Committee should get the chance of competing, so there should be a Qualifying tournament of one or two rounds on the first week of the Olympics and I hope they will find a format to play matchplay, as that would be much more attractive for the spectators!
12. How do you think Golf will change from 2016 after being a new Olympic Sport? I hope the rules of being an amateur or professional will change. And I hope golf will be more popular in Switzerland.
