The 2012 Summer Olympics are in full swing and all over the world people are watching as their favourite athlete competes for gold. We caught up with Finland’s Ursula Wikstrom to get her take on this year's Summer Olympics, from her favourite event to watch, her favourite moment of the Summer Olympics and a lot more.
What are your favourite Olympic sports? Long jump and triple jump
Who are your favourite Olympic athletes? Carolina Klüft, she was just so dominant in heptathlon.
What sports event do you like to watch during the Olympics? All the track and field and tennis.
Any plans to go to watch any event regarding London 2012? No.
Which country do you think will win most medals during London 2012? What about Great Britain? No idea, I just know it’s not going to be Finland.
Which Olympic Games you liked the most and why? I can’t name one: every games have their special moments.
Do you practice or have you ever practiced any Olympic Sport, apart from golf? No.
What is your favourite moment at any Olympics Games? It’s always nice to watch Finnish athletes win gold medals and hear the national anthem when they actually get the medal.
Have you met any other Olympic medallists apart from Vera Shimanskaya? Juha Hirvi, he got a medal for shooting. He plays golf in same club as me.
If you were not a golf professional, what other Olympic sport would you have liked to have practiced? Golf took me totally at an early age so I didn’t have any other sport to choose between.
If you had not dedicated your career to golf, in which other Olympic Sport you think you would have succeeded? When I was really young I admired Finnish cross country skiiers, so maybe that would have been my sport.
How do you think golf will change from 2016 after being a new Olympic Sport? Golf has such a big number of players worldwide so I think it is great that it will finally be part of the Olympics.
