The 2012 Summer Olympics are in full swing and all over the world people are watching as their favourite athlete competes for gold. We caught up with Austrian Stephanie Michl to find out about her favourite sports.

What is your favourite Olympic Sport?     Downhill skiing.

Who is your favourite Olympic athlete? Roger Federer, Hermann Maier.

What sport or event do you like to watch during the Olympics?  Most events are very exciting and special.

Have you got any plans to go to watch any event regarding London 2012?  No.

Which country do you think will win more medals during London 2012? What about Great Britain? USA will probably do really well.

Which Olympic Games you liked the most and why? Nothing comes to mind, I generally like watching the Games and like the excitement.

Do you practice any other Olympic Sport, apart from golf? Tennis, skiing, snowboarding.

What are your favourite moment at any Olympics Games? Nagano, winter games, when Hermann Maier literally flew out of the curve , yet he came right back and continued winning!

Have you met any other Olympic athletes apart from Vera Shimanskaya? Stefan Eberharter, Franz Klammer, both Austrian skiiers, they enjoy golf, so that’s how we met and just recently I met Jaime Komer at a charity golf event, she was there in 2008 and she is doing water sports.

If you were not a golf professional, what other Olympic Sport would you have liked to practice? Skiing or tennis.

If you had not dedicated your career to golf. In which other Olympic Sport you think you would have succeeded? I don’t know, I never thought about it. I don’t know if I would pursue another sport, I might just have a normal job.

How do you think golf will change from 2016 after being a new Olympic Sport?  I do not know. I guess it will be very exciting to be part of the Olympics, but will it change golf? No clue!
