Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since my first blog at the beginning of the season and I can safely say that I have been very busy since then; I have played eight tournaments and been to nine different countries since May! I love to travel so this has been very enjoyable so far and I have done my best to see as much of the local area as possible. Of course, when you are travelling so much you are bound to run into the occasional problem and I’ve had my fair share so far I think! Dealing with baggage strikes, lost luggage, scary hotels, language barriers and delays is only going to make you stronger though, right??

My most recent events have been the South African Women’s Open, Ladies Irish Open, and ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters. I am so happy that I made the decision to travel to South Africa; it was a long way to travel for one event but well worth it in the end. The course was tough and I had an up and down week with plenty of good shots and birdies but a few more mistakes that I would have liked. We were looked after very well and I think the players all appreciated and enjoyed trying out the great South African food!

The Ladies Irish Open was another great event and course; it was especially nice playing there after watching the Solheim Cup last year! Unfortunately we didn’t get the best weather but the course was fantastic and I was pleased to shoot under par the last day to finish my week on a good note. I had a lot of fun staying with some new friends that week and was also able to enjoy watching Team GB winning so many medals J

Finally, I played my first tournament in my home country at the ISPS Handa Ladies British Masters. I had a friend from home come down to Buckinghamshire and caddy for me but unfortunately I dint have a very good week and missed the cut. Nevertheless it was very nice to play an event in England and I look forward to putting in a better performance next year!

Thanks for reading my blog and please follow me on Twitter (@Ellie_Givens) while I get ready for my next tournament, the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open in Austria next week!

Ellie
