Followers of the LET media sites will have noticed that new “Power Drive Test by Bushnell” competition has been running recently.
Last campaign finished last Sunday 23rd September and again, members of the public were invited to guess which player would hit the most powerful drive during the Tenerife Open de España femenino, with the prospect of winning a brand new Tour Z6 Laser Rangefinder, worth approximately $600 USD.
This campaign showed again, as the previous ones, the power of the Ladies European Tour members and drew entries from over 700 contestants, but this time Jo Ann Zimmerman, from USA, was the lucky winner.
During this campaign, which featured the competition question: “Which player will hit the most powerful drive during the Tenerife Open de España femenino?” and there were 5 different choices (Marjet van der Graaf, Laura Davies, Line Vedel, Carly Booth and Carlota Ciganda).
The majority of contestants (over 25%) thought that Marjet van der Graaf would be the longest, followed very closely by 24% who thought that it would be Carly Booth and Laura Davies and Carlota (both 23%).
But, the longest driving distance during the event was actually 309 yards during the last round on hole-14, recorded by Carly Booth. Alonso hit a driver 309 yards too and second longest drive during this event has been 304 yards. from Davies on 4th round. Average distance for Van der Graaf has been 265 yards, Carly Booth 270 yards, Alonso 280 yards, Davies 280 yards. and Vedel 250 yards: long !
Congratulations to Jo Ann who can now start measuring her own driving distances using her new Bushnell Tour Z6 Laser Rangefinder.
