Cheyenne Woods at the Evian Masters 2012

The list of entries for the LET’s Lalla Aïcha Tour School 2013 is now available to view on the LET website and features a number of well-known names from amateur and professional golf.

American professional Cheyenne Woods, 22, has entered for the first time. She is the daughter of Earl Dennison Woods Jr., Tiger Woods’s older half-brother. According to the Daily Mail, her grandfather, Earl Woods Sr., was the first to put a golf club in her hands when she was an infant.

She was just 19 months old when her mother, Susan, pushed her around Riviera Country Club in a stroller while uncle Tiger, then 16, made his PGA Tour debut.

Cheyenne then started playing competitively at age eight and went on to win more than 30 amateur tournaments, winning the 2011 Atlantic Coast Conference championship title.

This year, after qualifying for the US Women’s Open, the Wake Forest graduate made her professional debut at the LPGA Championship. She received an invitation to play in the Evian Masters presented by Société Génerale in July where she tied for 50th on level par after four rounds. She had her first professional win on the SunCoast Ladies Series in late August 2012.

Another American name to watch at Tour School is Katie Burnett, the Symetra Tour professional who won the LPGA Qualifying Tournament stage two in October, finishing six strokes clear of four-time winner on Ladies European Tour (LET), Melissa Reid.

There are five members of Great Britain and Ireland’s victorious Curtis Cup team with Amy Boulden, Kelly Tidy, Charley Hull, Holly Clyburn and Pamela Pretswell, who has already turned professional after winning a Swedish tournament on the LET Access Series and may not need to attend should she finish the season in the top three on the LETAS order of merit and thus secure her LET playing rights automatically.

Australian professional Nikki Campbell, who has won two tournaments on the LPGA of Japan Tour and played in a number of events on the US LPGA, has also entered along with identical twins Melissa and Nicola Eaton of South Africa.

There are currently 220 entrants from 39 different countries all bidding for a place on the 2013 Ladies European Tour. The deadline for entries is Wednesday 24th October at 12.00p.m. UK time.

Sweden leads the way with 33 hopefuls, followed by England with 29 and then the USA with 17. There will be 14 competitors from France, 12 from Australia, 11 from each of South Africa and Scotland and Spain with 10.

In addition to the European countries, the nations represented include Australia, China, Colombia, India, Kazahkstan, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, New Peru, Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Taipei and Thailand.

Both the first and final stages of the Lalla Aïcha Tour School will be played on the Al Maaden Golf and Amelkis Golf Club in Marrakech, Morocco.

The first stage takes place from December 6-9, followed by the Final Stage from December 13-17, 2012.
