China's youngest professional Lin Xiyu, 16, is all ready to challenge the older women when she competes in the Euro250,000 Sanya Ladies Open beginning Friday.

The rising star from Guangzhou, has every reason to dream big for this tournament as had produced good results at the Yalong Bay Golf Club. In 2010 Sanya Ladies Open, Lin finished tied ninth and bettered her performance last year by finishing tied fifth.

Enthusiasm is running high for the teen who finished tied fifth at the Suzhou-Taihu Ladies Open at the Suzhou-Taihu International Golf Club on Sunday.

With two wins on the CLPGA Tour this year, the teenager who turned pro last year, said she is not prepared switch to the fast lane yet.

"I'll accelerate as I gain more competitive and international exposure and raise the level of my game," said Lin.

She added: "It's great to play alongside established women golfers, some of whom are more than double my age. The difference now is that I'm a girl and they are all women, but I too will be a woman some day."

Lin, however, said she is not prepared to be pushed to the extreme for fear of losing interest.

"I want to have fun, enjoy the game and avoid being prematurely burnt out. I think that's what happened to identical twins Aree and Naree Wongluekiat who turned professional at 14, but the same cannot be said of Morgan Pressel who turned pro at 12," she said.

"I still need to learn a lot, sharpen my game and improve on my course management. Right now I'm enjoying good form and with the right game application, I guess I can go on record to be the youngest winner here. Hopefully this dream will come true," Lin said.
