Tell us something about yourself.
I’m 23 years old, from Innsbruck and I studied in the States.
When did you start to play?
When I was 11 years old. I play at Golfclub Innsbruck Eagles. It’s about 15 minutes from my house. My parents, grandparents, everyone plays, so I just started to. Everyone played in the family so it was natural for me to start too.
What’s your greatest golfing achievement so far?
When I qualified for the US Women’s Open last year. That was the biggest thing and then just playing in it and enjoying it.
Talk about your college career.
I played in the States for four years at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I had a good run. My first year was good and then I struggled a bit and then got better again. I was like, that’s what I want to do for a living.
What is your lowest round?
66 and it was last March in Florida, Jacksonville. It was a college tournament which I ended up winning.
Any holes in one?
Just in practice rounds but not in a tournament yet, but I hope it’s to come soon.
What shot do you love to practice?
I like to putt and then just chip around and try out new things.
What’s the strength of your game?
Currently I would say hitting greens but it used to be my up and downs and putting.
Favourite golf course?
The Honors in Chattanooga Tennessee.
Who is your coach?
Hansi Lamberg, he’s from Kitzbühel.
What do you like to do when not playing golf?
It’s been snowing a lot back home so I love skiing when I go back. During the summer I like to hike and do a lot of sports. I like to just be outside. I used to ski race when I was little but I stopped when I got serious with golf, just because there are so many injuries with it.
What do you like to do in the airport?
I watch some movies on my laptop or read a book or if I have someone to travel with, just play some games to keep us occupied.
Who is your biggest idol in golf?
I really like Tiger. He’s been a great golfer and whatever he’s done has been awesome. On the women’s side: Annika, because she did a great job, especially for Europe and Suzann Pettersen: I like her swing and just how she plays.
What are your hopes for the 2013 season?
Just play and enjoy playing and see what it’s like out there.
