China's Xi Yu Lin is a rising star on the Ladies European Tour and will be one of its youngest new members aged 16 having finished fifth at Lalla Aicha Tour School for in 2013.
Tell me something most people don't know about you?
I like shoes very much and have a big collection. Every time I go to Hong Kong I just try to get as many as I can!
What would you like to do for a living if you are not a pro golfer?
I would like to be a referee or something. I like sports so maybe I will work in sport or do another sport. I used to play basketball and table tennis and badminton. My mum was a football player but she doesn’t want me to play football because she knows how difficult it is and she got an injury so she retired. She doesn’t want me to be a football player.
How many and which languages do you speak?
Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Who would be in your dream foursome?
Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
What is your favourite activity you do when you want to relax?
I like reading books and sometimes I watch movies with the coach. After the big tournaments, like the Ryder Cup, he will buy some DVDs and we watch it.
Do you have a favourite TV channel?
Discovery is quite good. In China, on CCTV, it’s not called Discovery. The programmes are the same.
What do you feel is your biggest accomplishment to date?
If I can improve my putting, I think that will be the greatest thing!
Is there a song that you like to sing when no one is around like in the car or the shower?
I like Taylor Swift’s songs.
Name something you consider yourself to be really good at?
My memory is pretty good and I always can remember many things from a long time ago. My English, I remember the words quickly, but also I forget it very quick. I think I’m kind of talented in sports because when I was young I played many sports and was always good at it. I did basketball, and tennis and swimming. I did well in every kind of sport.
Any holes in one?
Yes, one this year.
My favourite place is London. I love Britain so much. I want to live there in the future.
Favourite golf course?
In China, Yalong Bay, because I did well there. In Europe, I think the place where they held the Evian Masters is very good. I didn’t play well but the course is very beautiful.
