Do or did you practice any other sport apart from golf? Which one?
I started playing handball when I was a kid but quit in high school as I did not have time for that as well as golf.
What is/was your level at that sport?
I played on a local club team and had started playing with the senior team at the time I decided to stop playing.
What could you tell us about following Sports?
Soccer - too big of a sport to keep track off but I like watching the big championships
Tennis - I play it recreationally and enjoy watching it
Ski - I used to ski but nowadays only snowboard. Try to do it as much as possible. Alpine skiing is one of my favorite sports to watch
Swimming - popular sport in Sweden and something I like watching, especially during the Olympics
Compare golf with other sports you like... which one do you think is the toughest?
I like most sports but have only tried them on a recreational level so it is hard to tell. I think golf is one of the tougher sports as it is so technically and mentally demanding with very tough competition. It is also tough because it's an individual sport. I would imagine something like tennis is tough due to the same reasons. I've also always been impressed with cross country skiers, they push themselves so hard and the competition is crazy.
Who is your favourite sportwoman outside golf? Why?
I really admire cross country skier Marit Bjorgen, she works hard and performs on an incredible level as well as having a great attitude. I really like the entire Norwegian cross country team for those reasons.
Who are your favourite sportswomen?
I mentioned Marit Bjorgen, she's been dominant in cross country skiing for years now.
Anja Paerson: she has retired now but when she was active she won everything there is to win and is one of the best alpine skiers in history.
Therese Alshammar, swimmer: she is in her mid 30s and still competing which is amazing. She has won so many medals around the world and set world records, she has an amazing winner's mentality.
Have you met any of them? Who would you like to meet?
I have not met any of them and of course it would be neat to meet all of them, but most of all I'd like to see them compete up close. It's their competitive selves that I admire so much.
Is there any sport that you would like to practice professionally if you weren’t dedicated to golf? Which one?
I would have loved to be an alpine skier. I've always said that if I was born in the north of Sweden, I'd be touring the world as a professional alpine skier.
Which sport do you think deserves more recognition? Do you think women’s sport is popular enough?
I like watching most sports, doesn't matter if it's women or men competing. I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Sweden tennis, skiing, and swimming are probably the most popular ones off the list. The least popular ones are tricky to list, I'd say most of women's sports are poorly reported on here apart from a few exceptions. There is definitely a huge difference in the coverage of men's and women's sports. I wish it were different, and I especially wish all sports would be better covered, no matter if it's women or men. In Sweden at least it seems the two main sports are soccer and hockey, there is not much room for other sports in the media. And as hockey and soccer in Sweden are dominated by male teams and male leagues, that's who they will cover.
