Today sees the launch of a competition for youngsters to ‘Design a Board’ to be displayed at the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland golf tournament, held at Archerfield Links, East Lothian, 30 August – 1 September 2013.
Children aged under 16 in the local Edinburgh and East Lothian areas are invited to submit a piece of artwork depicting ‘Scottish Golf’, from which the winning entry will be turned into a 3050mm x 915mm on-course board, on display throughout the three-day tournament in August.
The board will be seen by some of the best female professional golfers in the world as they compete in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, as well as thousands of spectators and a large TV audience.
Creativity is encouraged and artwork must be submitted in an A4 landscape 2D format, by 26 July 2013. Entries will be judged by a panel which includes reigning tournament Champion and Aberdeen Asset Management ambassador, Carly Booth.
Carly Booth said: “I am looking forward to being on the judging panel and discovering how children in the Lothian area represent ‘Scottish Golf’ in their design. It will be great to see a colourful piece of artwork in amongst the traditional advertising boards on the course when I am playing in the tournament and defending my title in August.”

As well as having their artwork turned into a course board at a professional golf tournament, the winner and their family will be invited into the VIP clubhouse area for lunch. The runner-up will receive an Aberdeen golf pack.
