ISPS (International Sports Promotion Society) has been named as the Official Charity of the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland.
The 54-hole tournament, played over three days, is the only annual professional Ladies European Tour event in Scotland and is the fourth that ISPS have supported on The Ladies European Tour International Schedule following the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Women’s Open, the ISPS HANDA Women’s Australian Open, tri-sanctioned with the LPGA & ALPG, and the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters won by Karrie Webb at the Buckinghamshire Golf Club in July.
ISPS Chairman, Dr Haruihisa Handa said: “We are really pleased to announce our partnership with the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland. This tournament will once again highlight, to the world, the power of sport to do good and we are looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic tournament.”
“We at ISPS share the great belief that sport has the power to change the world, create a better society and breakdown educational and cultural barriers in a way that nothing else does.”
Ivan Khodabakhsh, Chief Executive of The Ladies European Tour, said: “This announcement further underlines Dr Handa’s commitment to charitable giving and creating a lasting legacy through golf. Dr Handa and ISPS have been tremendous supporters of the Ladies European Tour and we welcome their partnership with the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland alongside their existing support of events in England, Australia and New Zealand.”
Dr Handa has more than 25 years involvement in golf around the world at varying levels of the game. He is International Ambassador to the Asian Tour and the Ladies European Tour. He is also Patron of Golf Australia alongside Greg Norman and Honorary Chairman of the Legends Tour. ISPS is a Major Partner of Faldo Series Asia, Nick Faldo’s golf development programme.
