Holly Clyburn during the Evian Championship
- Explain what's your game like in general at present time, your feelings this week heading to Lacoste Ladies Open de France…. Do you see yourself as a potential winner of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France?
My game at the moment is very good, very steady. There are a few bits where I would like to be more sharp, but that’s something to do at the end of the season. But, yes, it’s nice. If I have few good rounds this week, there is not any reason why I cannot be in contention by the weekend.
My best part is probably my ball striking at the moment. My short game is good, but that’s the part that would need to be sharper, my general putting… This is where I am working all the time, on my short game.
The worst part of my game is the general course management; get to learn how to play golf courses differently… That is where I think there are some of the differences between amateur golf and professional golf. When you are amateur, you just go rock up and hit it…and when you are professional, you have to think what to do around the course, strategy and staff like that.
- Your comments on the Lacoste Ladies Open de France venue, Golf de Chantaco, how do you play it?
It’s a nice course, if you put it in the right area…. It’s not very long, some of the par 5’s are reachable. If you put it in the right areas in play to the centre of the greens then you won’t be very far away from the pins, because at the end of the day the greens are not massive and there are some big slopes on them, too. Sometimes, you can’t really put it in the area where you would like to… but you have to think where is the best place from where you can have a chance for best birdie putt.
- Your best memories of this current season so far
My best memory of this season was my win in Holland.
- Your comments on your Rookie battle with Charley Hull. What do you think you will need to do to beat her and end the season as the Rolex Rookie of The Year ?
I do not have really any comments about it. I normally look where I am at the rankings each week but I do not see as a threat. It would be nice at the end of the year to have that title, but Charley has been playing well and has been doing fantastically, but at the end of the day, it is my tournament and I want to keep pressure on what I am doing and focus on nothing else.
