Mikaela Parmlid of Sweden is ranked 11th on the LET’s ISPS HANDA Order of Merit with earnings of €84,755.87 from 14 tournaments this season. Her three top ten finishes include a career best 2nd at the Open de Espana at Club de Campo de Madrid. Here she discusses her warm-up routine before a tournament round.

Mikaela says: “I woke up at 9am and had breakfast at 9.15am. I had yoghurt, croissant and a sandwich with cheese. I like to have protein, but there was no protein. I drank water and some hot chocolate.
I got to the course 1.5 hours before my tee time and I like to warm up for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
I mark my yardage book with the pin positions,go to the putting green and check my aim on putting. I address the ball and putt through a little gate.
After that I head to the range and start with a wedge. Every other day I go even or odd numbers.
(Today was odd number irons, then 3-wood, driver).
Then I go and do some feel putting, long ones and a lot of breaks. I hit a few short putts.
All I care about is that I hit it on the line I intend to. If it misses or I misread it, I don’t care. I mark the golf balls while I’m on the green.
I do some chipping if I can: small chips and then I head to the first tee about ten minutes early.
I also had a quick lunch 10 minutes right before I went out.
We change score cards and when I’m on the tee I have everything prepared.
I pick up quite a few tees because I know that I drop them and I keep my marker on my hat."
