A day in the life of Stefania Croce

In this series we are looking at how LET members prepare for tournaments. Here, Italian Stefania Croce describes her typical routine in the week leading up to an event.

Stefania says:

When I’m at home I practice and also teach at Virginia Golf Club close to Como, near Milan.

I make sure the mornings are for myself so I wake up at 7am, go to Mass at 7.30am, come home and have breakfast, usually cereal, bread with honey, fruit and tea. Then I warm-up and exercise a little bit in the house.

I leave for the course around 9am and by 9.30am I’m at the golf course where I train until 1pm.

At the golf course, first I have a cup of coffee! Then I go directly to the golf course. I play nine holes, but I hit a few different balls.

I either concentrate on the long game, or two days later, more on the short game.

Because I’m playing several balls it takes me 2.5-3 hours and then I take a sandwich for lunch.

If I have to putt or chip I stay an extra hour and then I go to my club to give lessons until 5 or 6pm.

Sometimes I go running afterwards for 20 minutes to relax. It’s perfect because when I exercise I relax.

For dinner I have protein, meat and vegetables, but no pasta in the evening.

Stefania is the 1992 Ford Ladies Classic champion and has competed on the LET since 1989.
