Australian Bree Arthur and fellow LET golf professional Marjet Van der Graaff from the Netherlands took some time out from their preparations for the Hero Women’s Indian Open to pay a visit to the Taj Mahal.
With a little help from Indian golf pro Smriti Mehra, the players took a four hour car ride from the Indian capital to Agra, to see the immense mausoleum of white marble, recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
“It was amazing: definitely worth the trip,” said Bree. “I wanted to go last year and couldn’t find anyone to go, so this year I’m glad that Marjet came with me!”
Marjet said: “It was very nice to see the building. I really enjoyed it. When in India, if you have the chance, I would recommend a visit.”
This is Marjet’s third appearance in the Hero Women’s Indian Open while Bree is playing in the tournament for the second time. “They take care of us very well and the food is great,” Marjet said. “I have to thank Simi for helping us to arrange it.”
