Followers of the LET media sites will have noticed that a new “Bushnell Power Drive Test” competition has been running recently.
The last campaign finished Sunday 8th December and again, members of the public were invited to guess which player would hit the most powerful drive during the two of our last events, Hero Women´s Indian Open and the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, with the prospect of winning a brand new Tour v3 Laser Rangefinder.
This campaign showed again the power of our Ladies European Tour members and drew entries from over 200 contestants. And once again we had a lucky winner who was Mr. Miika Heikkila, from Finland.
During this campaign, which featured the competition question: “Which player will hit the most powerful drive over the two last events?”, there were 4 different choices, all of them ranked within the top of the driving distance statistics: Laura Davies, Carlota Ciganda, Sophie Gustafson and rookie Bonita Bredenhann.
The majority of contestants (over 34%) thought that Carlota Ciganda would be the longest, followed by those who thought that it would be Davies and Gustafson. But, the actual longest driving distance has been 273 yards recorded by Sophie Gustafson on her first round. The longest drive for Carlota was 265 yards and Davies had an average of 260 yds. Average distance for Bonita has been 250 yards.
Congratulations to Mr. Heikkila who can now start measuring his own driving distances over the following weeks using his new Bushnell Tour v3 Laser Rangefinder and thank you all for your support and for following us!
