Lennarth excited ahead of first visit to China
 Print
Sweden's Camilla Lennarth made an explosive start to the 2014 LET season with a tie for third at the VOLVIK RACV Ladies Masters in Australia. Now she has her sights set on the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship in China where she will be looking to collect her first career win.

How excited are you about visiting and playing at Mission Hills Haikou for the first time?

I'm very excited to visit Mission Hills Haikou. I've heard many good things about the course and the resort we're staying at.

What have you heard about this venue?

I've heard it's a very well run tournament with a great welcome dinner and fun pro am day. I've also been told that the golf course is challenging and the resort fantastic.

What do you think of the unique 3-in-1 format and your chance to represent your country in the team format?

I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Sweden. I like team events since we play individually most of the year.

How excited are you about going to China for the first time and why?

China has always been a country I want to visit. I've always been fascinated by their culture and good food. They also produce lots of good golf players so it’s exciting to be on good golf soil.

What do you think of the Chinese food?

I like Chinese food and eat it quite often when I'm in Sweden. I assume Chinese food made in China is slightly different from Chinese food made in Sweden so therefore I’m excited to see if my assumption is correct.

What are your personal goals for the tournament?

I want to represent Sweden in the best way I can. Of course winning is the main goal but there are many great players playing this tournament so all I can do is to do my best and see how far it will take me.

Do you feel your game is good enough to win?

I showed to myself during the Australian Masters that I've the game to win. It's a matter of time and I'm not in a rush.

What are your general goals for this year?

On top of my list this year is a win on the LET. But I need to keep positioning myself near the top and give myself chances to get there.

How happy are you with your start to the season in Australia and what does this mean for you?

I'm very happy with this start to the season. I showed myself that I've the capability to be up in the top and play solid for four rounds. I'm also happy with my mental performance because I now know I've learned from last year when I was in similar situations.

How have you been preparing for the WLC at Mission Hills and how are you approaching the new season?

I've spent some more time in warmer countries to be able to practice better but at the moment I'm in Sweden. This is my home base and I try to do the best I can practice wise when I'm at home.

I'm looking forward to see what this season has for me. There are a few parts of my game that I start seeing improvements in that I wish to take me to the next level.

Do you have any new hobbies or have you done anything particularly interesting or noteworthy over the off-season or last few weeks?

I've become very interested in cooking and especially in vegan food. Cooking is a lot of fun and I don't always follow the recipe strictly so I use a different kind of creativity in comparison to the golf course.

Is there anything new in your set-up this year, i.e. new clubs, coach, fitness regime, charity work, sponsor etc?

This year I've changed irons from Callaway to Titleist but I've kept my Callaway woods, putter and wedges. I also have a few new sponsors but the rest of my stable is the same as last year.
