Karen Lunn sets sights on repeat success in Portugal

Australian Karen Lunn is at the ISPS Handa Portugal Ladies Open this week, to defend her title at CampoReal Golf Resort and Spa, about 35 km north of Lisbon in Turcifal, near the city of Torres Vedras.
The 1993 Women’s British Open champion claimed a one stroke victory over Trish Johnson and Iben Tinning with a winning total of 12 under par at the same venue 11 months ago.
Despite having struggled with a back injury in recent months, the nine-time Ladies European Tour winner is determined to give the title defence her best shot.
“I normally do play well where I’ve played well somewhere before so in that respect I’m looking forward to it and I know my game’s not far away,” Lunn said.
“I don’t have as high expectations as I would have had I come in 100 per cent prepared and ready to go. I just aim to try and play well and be competitive. If I could be up there going into the last round then I’d be happy.”..... more .....

2011 Henderson Rookies Announced
 Henderson Global Investors today announced the three players who will take up the title of the 2011 Ladies European Tour Henderson Rookies. Caroline Hedwall (Sweden), Jaclyn Sweeney (USA) and Stacey Keating (Australia) will be collectively referred to as the ‘2011 Henderson Rookies’ and each will wear Henderson branded clothing and caps when they compete throughout the 2011 season in more than twenty countries...... more ......

Getting to know Dr Haruhisa Handa
 The International Sports Promotion Society (ISPS) has become the new title sponsor of the ISPS Handa Portugal Ladies Open, this year.
ISPS is a ‘General Incorporated Association’ based in Tokyo. The organisation was founded by Japanese philanthropist, Dr Haruhisa Handa, who is also its Chairman. ISPS contributes to society through supporting various sporting interests – currently focusing on golf and bowling. In golf, ISPS actively supports disabled golf and the International Blind Golf Association in addition to supporting a number of other charities for people with disabilities...... more ......

Christel Boeljon relaxed after claiming maiden win in Turkey
 Christel Boeljon may have claimed her maiden title at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open on Sunday, but she is taking the victory in her stride.
The 23-year-old from the Netherlands celebrated by paying for all of her friends and fellow professionals to go bowling at the Calista Resort on Sunday evening. She couldn’t buy them a drink as it was an all inclusive resort...... more ......
