Reid wants the the wind to blow at Carnoustie Golf Links

Melissa Reid was one of a number of players hoping for the wind to blow at Carnoustie Golf Links for the 2011 Ricoh Women’s British Open. She hoped that the venue known as ‘Car-nasty’ would bear its famous teeth.

"I would prefer the wind up, but I've heard that it's going to be quite calm all week.  If there's no wind, I think it brings every single player into it, whereas I think if the wind picks up it takes half the field out."...... more ......

Matthew buoyed by memories of 2009 victory

Catriona Matthew was in relaxed spirits as she met the media ahead of the 2011 Ricoh Women’s British Open at Carnoustie Golf Links.

"Yeah, it's great to be back here again.  I played a lot here as an amateur, played the Scottish Ladies here, so locking forward to playing here.  I played a few months ago just to refresh my memory with it, but the course is in great shape, played yesterday, and really looking forward to playing.".... more ....

Miyazato eyes her First Ricoh Women’s British Open title after winning Evian

The LET’s new Henderson Money List leader Ai Miyazato has high hope of claiming her first Ricoh Women’s British Open title when the event takes place this week for the first time at Carnoustie.

The 26 year-old from Okinawa arrives in top form having won last week’s Evian Masters in France and has now set her sights on becoming the first Japanese golfer to win the Ricoh Women’s British Open since Ayako Okamoto at Woburn back in 1984....... more ......

Prospective Solheim Cup team members try on uniforms

European Captain Alison Nicholas invited prospective Solheim Cup team members for a uniform fitting ahead of the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland on Wednesday 27th July. Players such as Caroline Hedwall and Azahara Munoz (pictured) tried on golf clothing by Abacus and formal evening wear by Paul Costelloe. They will be hoping to get a call-up to the team for the biennial trans-Atlantic event that takes place from 23-25 September at Killeen Castle in Ireland....... more ......

Bushnell Outdoor Products, the worldwide leader in sports optics announced its agreement today with the Ladies European Tour to be the Official Supplier of Laser Rangefinders to The 2011 European Solheim Cup Team at Killeen Castle, Ireland from September 23 – 25.
