This week the Ladies European Tour returns to the beautiful and scenic Golf Resort Talé in Brezno for the fourth edition of the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open presented by Respect.

So far, all three of the previous winners of the tournament have enjoyed a maiden victory, so the question is, will the trend continue this week?

There are two former champions in the field of competitors, with last year’s winner Line Vedel of Denmark and Spain’s Maria Hernandez, who won the title in 2010. Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall, who won her first tournament as a professional here in 2011, is absent however her non-identical twin sister Jacqueline has received an invitation and will aiming for a first victory.

With Solheim Cup points at a premium this year, the event has attracted the strongest field so far, with a number of prospective European team members, including Charley Hull, Trish Johnson, Diana Luna, Melissa Reid, Gwladys Nocera, Minea Blomqvist, Mikaela Parmlid and Laura Davies in the field.... more ....

 
Hull still seeking first professional victory

Charley Hull is hoping to go one place better when she tees up in the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open tomorrow after five runner-ups  in as many starts on the Ladies European Tour so far this year. The 17-year-old rookie professional from Kettering in Northamptonshire leads the LET’s ISPS Handa Order of Merit after finishing second in Morocco, South Africa, Turkey, Holland and Germany respectively.... more....

 
Woods back on course after US Open

Cheyenne Woods was on the ground at Merion Golf Club last week covering the U.S. Open as a journalist for Back9NetworkTV. She gave her uncle, Tiger, a surprise when she asked him the following question in a pre-tournament press conference:  “The US Open is usually one of the most gruelling weeks of golf so what would you do off the course in order to be at ease and relax so that you could perform on the course?”... more....

Denmark’s Line Vedel is hoping for history to repeat itself this week when she defends the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open 2013 atGolf Resort Talé near Brezno. With her mother Susanne on caddie duties, the 24-year-old from Tinglev secured her maiden title at the venue last year with rounds of 71, 69 and 69 for a three-round total of seven-under-par.... more....

Ace Helps Hall Storm up the European PING Junior Solheim Cup Ranking

England’s Georgia Hall has stormed into a share of third place on the European PING Junior Solheim Cup Ranking thanks to her dramatic victory in windswept conditions at last week’s Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Machynys Bay. The 17 year-old from Remedy Oaks Golf Club in Dorset aced the 17th hole on her way to beating Spain’s Luna Sobron by one hole in the final in Wales and the 90 ranking points she earned moved her into a share of third place alongside Germany’s Karolin Lampert on the Ranking table with just two counting events left to go.... more....
