Golf Tournament Scores Big with Sea Turtle Conservation in China

Members of the sanctioning Ladies European Tour (LET), China LPGA, Ladies Asian Golf Tours, and Yalong Bay Golf Club were on hand as the non-profit organization, Sea Turtles 911, released a fully rehabilitated Hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and a Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) back into the ocean blue.... more....

Kirkland confident ahead of maiden title defence

Cassandra Kirkland of France is full of confidence ahead of her title defence at this week’s Sanya Ladies Open in China. The 29-year-old Parisian came from a stroke behind to claim her first professional title on a hot and breezy final day 12 months ago at Yalong Bay Golf Club.

She insists that she isn’t feeling any pressure for a repeat performance: “I have more confidence because I know the course suits me and I just want to play and see what’s going to happen. I really don’t put pressure on myself.”... more....

Pro Golfers Visit Hou Hai School in Hainan

Several members from the LET, LAGT and China LPGA took time out from their preparations for the Sanya Ladies Open to visit Hou Hai School in Hainan Province, China. LET members Smriti Mehra, Holly Aitchison, Danielle Montgomery, Stephanie Na, Leigh Whittaker, Jia Yun Li and the 2012 Sanya Ladies Open champion Cassandra Kirkland spent time playing table tennis, basket ball and other play ground games with the students, before giving the children gifts.... more....

Lin wants to follow in Feng’s footsteps

China’s youngest professional golfer Xi Yu Lin is ideally placed to walk through the doors that Shanshan Feng has opened for women’s golf in China. The talented 17-year-old, who is a rookie on the Ladies European Tour and a two-year member of the China LPGA, has the experience of a veteran, boasting an impressive résumé that includes a 2011 U.S. Women’s Open appearance as an amateur, two wins on the CLPGA in 2012 and a tie for 17th finish at this year’s RICOH Women’s British Open at St. Andrews..... more....

Rookie of the Year Race Continues in Sanya

The LET’s Rolex Rookie of the Year race is still wide open with four events remaining on the 2013 calendar. It looks like it’s coming down to England’s Holly Clyburn vs. Charley Hull who lead the rankings by a fairly large margin. Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn is out with a shoulder injury, but it’s all to play for as fourth placed Germany’s Ann-Kathrin Lindner is €37,500 behind second ranked Hull.

Morocco’s Maha Haddioui excited ahead of China debut

Maha Haddioui is excited to be making her first visit to China to play in the Sanya Ladies Open after recording a career-best tie for 20th place in the last LET event three weeks ago at the LACOSTE Ladies Open de France.
