Booth Seeks Home Comforts in Scotland

Carly Booth made it consecutive home wins in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open last year, after Catriona Matthew’s success in 2011.

Locals are hoping to make it a hat-trick of home titles this week, with eight Scots in the field. The 21-year-old Scot Booth returns to Archerfield Links in East Lothian to defend the national Open.

Having broken through with her first win on the LET Access Series at the Dinard Ladies Open at the start of her third season as a professional last year, Booth quickly followed by two wins on the LET, in Scotland and Switzerland.... more....

Matthew Main Attraction after Solheim Cup Win

World Number Ten Catriona Matthew feels ready to build on the success of Europe’s recent Solheim Cup victory in Colorado by collecting a second Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open title this week.

The 44-year-old Scot won her national Open two years ago at Archerfield Links in East Lothian, just a few miles from her home in North Berwick.... more....

Kelsey MacDonald looking to shine at Archerfield Links

Kelsey MacDonald has received one of five sponsor’s invitations for the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and will be looking to make the most of her opportunity to shine on home turf.

The 22-year-old turned professional in late April after tying for 57th in the Lalla Meryem Cup, Morocco, where she played as an amateur.

She made her professional debut on the LET in the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, with an impressive tie for 31st at National Golf Club. She is also ranked 36th on the Access Series Order of Merit after four starts.... more....

The summer’s festival of golf continues this week with the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland at Archerfield Links, East Lothian, from Friday 30 August – Sunday 1 September.

The free to attend event follows hot on the heels of a hugely historic first win on US soil for the European Team in The Solheim Cup, where they recorded the biggest ever margin of victory – 18-10 - at Colorado Golf Club.... more....

ISPS named as official tournament charity of Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland

ISPS (International Sports Promotion Society) has been named as the Official Charity of the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland. The 54-hole tournament, played over three days, is the only annual professional Ladies European Tour event in Scotland and is the fourth that ISPS have supported on The Ladies European Tour International Schedule.... more....

‘Design a Board’ competition winner announced

Aberdeen Asset Management is delighted to announce the winner of its competition to ‘Design a Board’ for the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, held at Archerfield Links, Friday 30 August – Sunday 1 September 2013.

Zara Mason, aged 11 from Dalry, Ayrshire, has won the competition after her artwork was selected by defending Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open champion, Carly Booth.

Children aged under 16 were invited to submit a piece of artwork depicting ‘Scottish Golf’, which will be turned into a 2.4m x 1m on-course board, on display throughout the three-day tournament next week.... more....

Meet Germany’s latest winner Ann-Kathrin Lindner

When Ladies European Tour rookie Ann-Kathrin Lindner won the Pilsen Golf Masters in only her seventh LET event as a professional this August, she surprised even herself. However, in many ways, it was not at all surprising, particularly given her incredible work rate, support team and disciplined approach to golf.

An unusual route to becoming a professional tour golfer, ‘Anka’ took up the game by chance at 15, found her own coaches and effectively pushed her way into the German national team.... more....
