PROFESSIONAL
- In 2012, Caroline played in 18 tournaments and posted 3 top-10s including T 6th at the Deloitte Ladies Open, T 7th at the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi and T8th at the Hero Women's Indian Open. Ended the season ranked 44th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.
- In 2011, Caroline had four top-10s including a career best finish of second at the UNIQA Ladies Golf Open at Golf club Foerenwaldh in Austria and joint second at the Deloitte Dutch Ladies Open at Golfclub Broekpolder. She was third at the Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open and tied for 8th at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open. She ended the season ranked 27th on the Money List, which was her best of four years on tour.
- In 2010, her third season on the LET, posted a career best finish of 7th at the Vediorbis Open de France Dames at Paris International Golf Club.
- Tied for 9th at the Tenerife Ladies Open with a career low 65 (-7) in the fourth round at Buenavista Golf Club.
- Earned €40,859.11 and finished 55th on the Henderson Money List.
- Won the Order of Merit on the LET Access Series: the official feeder tour to the LET. Earned two LETAS victories at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open and La Nivelle Ladies Open in France.
AMATEUR
Afonso was the No.1 ranked French amateur in 2007, the year she won the French Ladies’ Amateur Championship. She won the1999 French amateur championship and was a finalist in the 1999 Junior French championship. She won her full card for the LET at the first attempt.
PERSONAL
Afonso started to play golf at the age of 10. She enjoys playing football, swimming, going to the cinema and listening to music. She credits her father as her greatest influence. Coached by Philippe Mendiburu, father of former LET champion Sandrine Mendiburu. Osteopath and nutritionist is Stepháne Martin-Rosset. Afonso holds a “Terminale” qualification, which is the equivalent of the French BAC. She lives in Anglet, near Biarritz, and is attached to Saint-Laurent Golf Club in Brittany.
