PROFESSIONAL CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • In 2013, Lotta was the first Team Captain to lead a European side to victory at The Solheim Cup at Colorado Golf Club in Denver, Colorado, USA. With the help of her Vice Captains Carin Koch and Annika Sorenstam, Neumann also led Europe to a first successful defence of The Cup and the team won by eight points, the biggest ever margin of victory with a score line of 18-10.
  • In 2009, acted as one of two Assistant Captains to Alison Nicholas at The Solheim Cup at Rich Harvest Farms in the USA.
  • In 2006, earned Life membership of the LET; also won the Women’s World Cup of Golf at Sun City in South Africa, representing Sweden with Annika Sorenstam.
  • In 2002, finished runner up to Annika Sorenstam at the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
  • In 2000, member of Europe’s winning Solheim Cup team at Loch Lomond.
  • In 1995, Australian Open win gave her a 4th victory on different tours.
  • In 1994, victory at the Weetabix Women’s British Open made her fifth player to win both British and US Open titles, joining Laura Davies, Jane Geddes, Betsy King and Patty Sheehan. Won LET Order of Merit.
  • In 1992, shared leading individual score with Trish Johnson and a member of Europe’s winning 1992 Solheim Cup side. 
  • In 1988, won US Open and went on to win the LPGA Gatorade Rookie of the Year Award.

Swedish Champion 1982, 1983. Swedish Matchplay Champion 1983. Represented Sweden World Amateur Team Championship 1982, 1984, European Team Championship 1984 and Continent of Europe in Vagliano Trophy 1983.

PERSONAL

168cm with blonde hair and blue eyes. Credits her coach Pierre Karstrom and Mark Scott for helping her to start golf, and her family as the individuals most influencing her career. Won first Swedish amateur title at age of 15 by nine strokes. Named 1988 Golf Digest Rookie of the Year. 1994 Swedish Golfer of the Year. 1994 Golf World’s Most Improved Golfer. Recognised during the LPGA’s 50th Anniversary in 2000 as one of the LPGA’s top 50 players and teachers. Hobbies include music, tennis, Miami Dolphins, decorating and wine collecting. Represents Callaway and Astra Clothing.
