In 2011, history was made when Lexi won the Navistar LPGA Classic on 18th September by 5 strokes and shot 17 under. At only 16 years, seven months and eight days old, Lexi became the youngest professional player in history to win on the LPGA, PGA, Men’s European and Nationwide Tours. She claimed her second professional title at the Ladies European Tour’s season-ending event, the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, in December, just three months later becoming the second youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour event. She played in six LET events in total with her next best finish a tie for 24th at the Ladies Irish Open, followed by a tie for 36th at the Evian Masters and a tie for 42nd at the ANZ Ladies Masters. She missed the cut at the Women’s Australian Open and UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi. She played a number of LPGA events on sponsors’ invitations being too young to become a member. She also played on the Fuzion Tour through the summer and won a one-round tournament, at her home course in Coral Springs.
In 2010, turned professional on 16th June aged 15. In July, she tied for second at the Evian Masters presented by Société Générale, finishing one stroke behind the winner, Jiyai Shin and earning €186,700.51. Tied for 10th at the US Women’s Open. Led the field in driving distance at 2010 Kraft Nabisco Championship.

Tied for 10th at 2010 U.S. Women's Open. No. 1 Ranked Women's Amateur and No.1 Ranked Girls Junior Amateur by Golfweek in 2009. Member of victorious USA Team at 2010 Curtis Cup Matches and posted a 4-0-1 record. Winner 2008 USGA Junior Girls Championship. Winner 2010 Jones/Doherty Amateur. Winner 2009 Women's Southern Amateur. Winner 2009 South Atlantic Amateur (SALLY) by 13 strokes. Winner 2009 AJGA Polo Golf Junior Championship. Winner 2007 Women's Dixie Amateur; runner up in 2008 and 2009. Semi Finalist at 2009 USGA Women's Amateur. Winner 2009 PGA Junior Championship. Member of 2009 USA Team at the Spirit International Amateur; Triple Gold Medal Winner (Women's Individual, Women's Team and Overall Team). Member of 2009 USA Team at the Junior Solheim Cup. Member of 2008 USA Team at the Junior Ryder Cup. Youngest player to ever qualify for US Women's Open in 2007 aged 12 (but failed to make the cut); also qualified in 2008 and 2009.
PERSONAL
5’11” tall with blonde/brown hair and green eyes. Her hometown is Coral Springs, Florida. Interests include hanging out with friends and family. Older brother Nicholas Thompson is a member of the PGA Tour and former No.1 Ranked amateur while other brother Curtis Thompson is a highly ranked top amateur who attends LSU on a full golf scholarship. Lexi’s father, Scott, caddies for her. Because of her young age, she pursues her education through home schooling by her parents and under close supervision from educational professionals – all while competing on Tour. Lexi has three cats, and is an avid music and reality television fan. She also enjoys bowling and has an affinity for ladybugs.
