PROFESSIONAL
- In 2012, her first full season on the LET, Carlota was Rolex Rookie of The Year, won the ISPS Handa Order of Merit and was also named Players’ Player of the Year, as voted for by the LET members. She played in 19 tournaments, posted 2 victories at the Deloitte Ladies Open and China Suzhou Taihu Open and had 10 additional top-10s finishes. She ended the season ranked 2nd on the European Solheim Cup points list with total earnings of €251,289.95.
- In May 2011, Carlota turned professional and in June, she finished 2nd to Becky Brewerton on her professional debut at the Tenerife Ladies Match Play, which was a non-official event on the LET schedule. She competed on the Ladies European Tour Access Series in 2011 where she won the Murcia Ladies Open. She tied for 34th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she earned Priority List Category 20 for the 2012 LPGA season. She finished 3rd at the LET Final Qualifying School tournament to earn membership, in category 8a.
AMATEUR
Ciganda enjoyed a successful amateur career, winning the 2007 British Amateur Championship and 2004 and 2008 European Championship. She was the Spanish National Champion from 2000-2006. She was a member of the 2006 and 2008 Spain World Amateur Team; 2005 and 2007 European Junior Solheim Cup Team and 2004 and 2006 European Junior Ryder Cup Team. While at Arizona State University she made conference history by becoming the first player to win back-to-back Pac-10 Championships in 2009 and 2010. She played in a number of professional tournaments as an amateur and first took part in the 2005 Tenerife Ladies Open aged 14. Although on that occasion she did not make the cut, she finished as the best Spanish representative in several professional tournaments, including the 2007 Open de Espana, when she finished eighth and the 2008 Tenerife Ladies Open when she was third, three shots behind the winner, Rebecca Hudson.
PERSONAL
Height 1.74 m, brown eyes and hair. Started to play golf aged five and credits her father as the biggest influence on her career. Her uncle is the ex-football player and coach Jose Angel Ziganda.
