In 2013, Yu Yang played in 6 LET events and made 3 cuts but saved the best until last when she recorded a career-best 2nd place at the Sanya Ladies Open in Hainan, China. After firing rounds of 69, 69 and 65 to tie with Lee-Anne Pace, she was eventually defeated at the first extra hole when Pace made a birdie on hole 18 at Yalong Bay Golf Club in the sudden-death play-off. Yu Yang also played on the LPGA of Japan Tour.
- In 2012, her rookie year on the LET, played in 12 events and made 8 cuts with a season-best tie for 24th at the Sanya Ladies Open in China. Finished 98th on the Order of Merit with season’s earnings €17,697.00.
- In 2011, tied for 19th at the Sanya Ladies Open and tied for 25th at the Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open, as both tournaments were co-sanctioned between the Ladies European Tour and China LPGA Tour. Best finish on the China LPGA Tour was 2nd at the Yangzhou Ladies Challenge. In January 2012, Zhang made history at LET Final Qualifying School for the 2012 season by becoming China’s first representative on the LET.

1.58m tall with black hair and brown eyes… started to play golf aged nine. Interests include watching movies and reading. Golfing heroes are Rory McIlroy and Na Yeon Choi. Attends Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and intends to continue studying for a Masters… speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English fluently. Spent two months practicing golf at the Gary Gilchrist Academy in Florida, USA, during 2011. Coached by Raymond Huang, Michael Dickie and Shi Hu on the China National Team.
