Biography Taylor, Lauren (ENG)

PROFESSIONAL

  • In September 2013, two weeks after winning the Norrporten Ladies Open as an amateur, Lauren made her professional debut at the Ladies Norwegian Challenge at Hauger Golf Club in Oslo on the LET Access Series. She later attended Lalla Aicha Tour School for 2014 and finished in T34th position, earning LET Membership in Category 9b.

AMATEUR

  • In 2013, Lauren won the Norrporten Ladies Open on Access Series. The same year, she also won the Dutch Junior Open (and was again given an invite to the Deloitte Ladies Open on the LET), the Astor Salver and she represented England in the European Ladies’ Championship. In May, she won the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship individual title in the United States by eight shots and was named Player of the Year.
  • In 2012, she won the Dutch Junior Open and was given an invite to the Deloitte Ladies Open on the LET. She also played in the Slovak Open for the second time.
  • In 2011, Taylor became the youngest winner of the British Ladies Amateur Champion aged 16 and was named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year. She played in the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open where she recorded two consecutive eagles on the par-5 4th hole and par-3 5th hole at Gray Bear Golf Club. The same year, she was a member of the winning England Team at the Home Internationals; She represented Europe in the Junior Solhiem Cup 2011; she earned a Silver Medal in European Girls Championship; she won the Ian Poulter International; was runner-up at the Daily Telegraph Final 2011 and also won the Dutch Junior Open.
  • In 2010, she was a member of the winning England team at the Home Internationals and won the U/18 Scottish Ladies Open.
  • In 2009, she was a member of the winning England team at the Home Internationals and winner of the Faldo Series qualifier.
  • In 2008, she won the English Girls’ U/15 Championship and the English Ladies Amateur Stroke play Championship.

PERSONAL

5'4” tall with brown hair and blue eyes…Taylor was born and raised in Rugby. Her younger sister Charlotte also plays golf. She trains at Woburn and is coached by Andy Dunbar. She names Dunbar and her father as the biggest influences on her career.
